Overview
The Public Health Internship provides hands-on experience in mental health education, leadership development, and community engagement. As part of the Titan of Life Project, inspired by Melvin L. Burks' leadership legacy, this internship integrates mental health awareness with purpose-driven leadership and the Voice Up Theory for Learning, which connects education to personal purpose.
Interns will support mental health advocacy initiatives, develop educational materials, and integrate storytelling-based learning into leadership programs.
Key Responsibilities
Mental Health Education & Advocacy
Develop and implement age-appropriate mental health education materials.
Apply Voice Up Theory to connect leadership skills with mental health awareness.
Facilitate discussions and activities that reduce stigma and promote well-being.
Design interactive learning experiences to enhance mental health understanding.
Program Development & Community Engagement
Assist in coordinating leadership incubator programs (1-Week, 2-Week, and 4-Week Tracks).
Help integrate mental health principles into the Purpose Fellowship superhero curriculum.
Support community-based trust-building initiatives for mental health resilience.
Partner with mentors and community organizations to expand support networks.
Evaluate program impact and document success stories.

3. Paid Fellowship Selected candidates with strong project proposals may receive a $500-$750/month stipend for a 3-4 month commitment.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
Pursuing or holding a Bachelors degree in Public Health, Psychology, Social Work, Education, or a related field.
Experience in mental health education, community outreach, or leadership development preferred.
Strong communication and facilitation skills, especially in discussing mental health topics.
Skills & Personal Qualities
Passion for mental health advocacy and reducing stigma.
Strong writing and curriculum development skills.
Ability to work independently and collaborate in a virtual setting.
Comfort with digital learning platforms and virtual engagement tools.
