DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) - Manual Specialist is a skilled subprofessional position involving responsibility for assisting a Physical Therapist with the treatment and preventions of neuromuscular or musculoskeletal disabilities by the application of direct physical therapy procedures to patients. The work is performed under the supervision of a qualified Physical Therapist who evaluates the patient, develops the treatment plan and designates specific responsibility to the Assistant. A Physical Therapist is readily available at all times for direction and assistance. Supervision may be exercised over one or more Physical Therapy Aides.
You MUST meet minimum qualifications in ordered to be considered for an interview
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : Certification and current registration by the New York State Education Department as a Physical Therapist Assistant and either:
A. Seven (7) years experience as a PTA with successful completion of advanced manual clinical education (requiring four (4) or more continuing education classes of 24 CEU's and proficiency exam) OR
B. Certification in Massage Therapy, Integrative Manual Therapist, Craniosacral Therapist, etc.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.67 - $27.25 per hour
