Part Time Bookkeeper Job Title: Bookkeeper
Hours: 30 hours/week, potential to grow into full time if desired
Reports To: Director of Finance
Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated Bookkeeper to join our team. This role is responsible for a variety of accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask effectively, and excellent communication and customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities: - Enter, post, and reconcile general ledger, accounts receivable (A/R), and accounts payable (A/P) transactions
- Perform routine account and payment reconciliations
- Prepare and review A/R and A/P aging reports
- Purchase supplies and equipment as authorized by management
- Record cash receipts and make bank deposits
- Maintain and reconcile the petty cash fund
- Manage collection efforts and follow-up calls for outstanding A/R balances
- Respond to credit inquiries from internal and external sources
- Research and resolve A/R and A/P issues with customers and vendors
- Process routine inventory transactions following company procedures
- Provide clerical and administrative support as needed
- Collaborate with multiple departments and management staff
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Experience: - 2-3 years of relevant bookkeeping experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger reconciliation
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
- Effective communication and customer service skills
