Hours: Monday: 9a-5p, Tuesday: 10a-6p, Wednesday: 9a-5p, Thursday:10a-6p, Friday: 10a-6p
Aspire is seeking to hire a doctoral level clinical or school psychologist to join our growing mental health team. Aspire's mental health team serves both typically developing individuals with mental health challenges as well as individuals with developmental disabilities and co-morbid mental health challenges. As part of this position, the psychologist will be engaged in evaluations and individual therapy at our Cheshire, Connecticut location as well as evaluations referred to our mental health team by area school districts. In addition, the psychologist will provide supervision and training to a predoctoral intern matched with Aspire through the APPIC process. Depending on interest, the psychologist can also be engaged in developing and delivering professional development through in person or virtual platforms.
Qualifications:
The individual must hold a doctoral degree in either clinical psychology or school psychology and be licensed as a psychologist in the state of Connecticut.
Individuals with Board Certification in Behavior Analysis preferred but not required.
Preference for individuals with experience working with children with developmental disabilities.
Must have satisfactory background checks
Valid driver's license and safe driving record
Skills and Abilities:
The psychologist at Aspire Living & Learning must possess knowledge of evidence-based interventions for working with children with a variety of mental health needs. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also necessary for this position. The individual must also be open to teaming with colleagues on complex case reviews.
Working Conditions:
The primary location for therapy and evaluations is in our Cheshire, Connecticut office.
Availability during after school hours is a requirement of the position. There may be some requirements to travel to school districts contracting with Aspire for evaluations.
Lift/carry up to 10 pounds; speaking; standing; sitting for long periods of time; reaching; bending; walking; reaching with arms and hands, balancing; using fingers to handle or feel. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
This position requires the routine use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, fax machines, audio/visual equipment, etc.
