A leading behavioral health organization in New York is seeking a psychiatrist to serve as a Medical Director for a new site in Staten Island. This role provides clinical leadership at a Community Behavioral Health Center while maintaining up to 20% clinical duties. Reporting to the Chief of Psychiatry, the Medical Director ensures integrated care and quality improvement.

About the Opportunity:

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday
  • Location: Onsite with some remote flexibility
  • Setting: Outpatient Behavioral Health Center

Responsibilities:

  • Lead psychiatric support efforts, including team meetings, case conferences, and utilization reviews
  • Provide clinical consultations and prescription coverage as needed
  • Oversee quality improvement initiatives related to HEDIS & MIPS measures
  • Support new practitioners with onboarding and electronic health record training
  • Conduct chart reviews and assist in recruitment efforts
  • Supervise psychiatric providers, NPP students, and assist in NPP Residency training
  • Provide direct client care and collaborate with site leadership on clinical operations

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO with active New York State medical license and DEA
  • Minimum 5 years of Psychiatric experience across diverse populations
  • Active NYS Medical license
  • M.D., D.O.
  • DEA registration
  • Approved PECOS and OPRA status in NYS
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in Substance Use Treatment
  • Board certifications:
    • Addiction Psychiatry (American Board of Medical Specialties)
    • Addiction Medicine (American Society of Addiction Medicine, American Board of Addiction Medicine, or American Osteopathic Association)
    • Federal DATA 2000 waiver (buprenorphine-certified)
