A leading behavioral health organization in New York is seeking a psychiatrist to serve as a Medical Director for a new site in Staten Island. This role provides clinical leadership at a Community Behavioral Health Center while maintaining up to 20% clinical duties. Reporting to the Chief of Psychiatry, the Medical Director ensures integrated care and quality improvement.
About the Opportunity:
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Location: Onsite with some remote flexibility
- Setting: Outpatient Behavioral Health Center
Responsibilities:
- Lead psychiatric support efforts, including team meetings, case conferences, and utilization reviews
- Provide clinical consultations and prescription coverage as needed
- Oversee quality improvement initiatives related to HEDIS & MIPS measures
- Support new practitioners with onboarding and electronic health record training
- Conduct chart reviews and assist in recruitment efforts
- Supervise psychiatric providers, NPP students, and assist in NPP Residency training
- Provide direct client care and collaborate with site leadership on clinical operations
Qualifications:
- MD or DO with active New York State medical license and DEA
- Minimum 5 years of Psychiatric experience across diverse populations
- Active NYS Medical license
- M.D., D.O.
- DEA registration
- Approved PECOS and OPRA status in NYS
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
Desired Skills:
- Experience in Substance Use Treatment
- Board certifications:
- Addiction Psychiatry (American Board of Medical Specialties)
- Addiction Medicine (American Society of Addiction Medicine, American Board of Addiction Medicine, or American Osteopathic Association)
- Federal DATA 2000 waiver (buprenorphine-certified)
