We are seeking a skilled Psychiatrist for a 240-day locum tenens assignment at a Clinic in New Mexico, starting September 1, 2025. The ideal candidate will work Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This role involves providing outpatient behavioral health services, with a focus on treating patients suffering from substance abuse, PTSD, depression, anxiety, and related disorders. The psychiatrist will be responsible for Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) patients, requiring extensive experience in this area. Using the Nextgen system, the provider will manage a diverse caseload of behavioral health patients in an outpatient setting. Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide comprehensive outpatient psychiatric care
- Manage patients with substance abuse disorders, PTSD, depression, and anxiety
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and develop treatment plans
- Prescribe and manage medications, including for MAT patients
- Offer psychotherapy and counseling as needed
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals in a multidisciplinary approach
- Utilize Nextgen system for patient management and record-keeping
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and best practices in psychiatric care
- Participate in team meetings and case discussions
- Stay updated on the latest developments in psychiatry and addiction medicine
- Provide patient and family education on mental health and substance abuse issues
Additional Information:
- Active New Mexico medical license required
- Board certification in Psychiatry
- Extensive experience in Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) is mandatory
