Opportunity Overview:

A dynamic Psychiatry Residency Program in Gainesville, Florida is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible psychiatrist to join its Core Faculty. This position blends clinical responsibilities with a strong academic focus, offering the opportunity to impact resident education, participate in curriculum development, and shape the future of psychiatric care through mentorship and leadership.

Position Highlights:
  • Core Faculty appointment with an affiliated medical school

  • ACGME-accredited program with 32 psychiatry residents

  • Department features include:

    • 33-bed inpatient psychiatric unit

    • Consultation liaison service

    • Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

    • Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) services

  • Primary clinical focus on inpatient consults and IOP care

  • Facility is a designated Baker Act Receiving Center, accepting both voluntary and direct admissions

  • 24/7 resident coverage for consults, admissions, and emergency evaluations

  • Call rotation is 1:5, supervising 3 4 residents per shift

  • Active involvement in didactic instruction, supervision, and scholarly activities

  • Ideal for psychiatrists with a passion for teaching new graduates are encouraged to apply
