The position requires a 40-hour work week, with no on-call, weekend, or holiday duties unless desired. Responsibilities include monthly patient visits, completing patient notes, and managing NGRI and SVP status patients. Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide psychiatric care for severely mentally ill patients
- Manage an average caseload of 40 patients across two wards
- Conduct monthly patient visits and additional visits as needed
- Complete patient notes, including monthly summaries and annual reviews
- Assess and manage patients with NGRI (Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity) and SVP (Sexually Violent Predator) status
- Diagnose and treat various mental health conditions, including Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorder, Mood Disorders, Personality Disorders, and Substance Abuse Disorders
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
- Adhere to all facility protocols and safety procedures
Additional Information:
- Active Missouri medical license required
- Experience in forensic psychiatry preferred
- Strong ability to work independently and make clinical decisions
