Job Description: The Atlanta VA Medical Clinics are seeking a full-time Psychiatrist (MD/DO) to join our outpatient mental health team. This is an excellent opportunity to provide specialized care to veterans in need of mental health support. The successful candidate will work in multiple clinics within a 30-minute radius of Atlanta, Georgia, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of psychologists and LCSWs to provide comprehensive mental health care.
Responsibilities: Provide psychiatric assessments and treatment for veterans in an outpatient setting. Conduct 1-hour initial evaluations for new patients and 30-minute follow-up visits for returning patients. Develop treatment plans and provide ongoing psychiatric management for mental health conditions. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychologists and LCSWs, to deliver holistic patient care. Maintain patient records in the CPRS EMR system in accordance with VA policies. Advocate for the mental health needs of veterans and promote mental wellness in the community.
