As a Prototyping Manufacturing Engineer, you will be a crucial part of the team. You will be working in a fast-paced environment, and will be required to quickly design, test, iterate, and print prototype products. The successful Prototype Manufacturing Engineer should be comfortable learning new systems quickly and testing multiple designs to validate the pros and cons of each design.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design new products and develop new manufacturing techniques and processes for prototyping efforts
  • Evaluate and qualify suppliers for new and existing manufacturing technologies
  • Develop internal processes to improve flow and control of prototypes
  • Collaborate with other engineering groups to create and set up efficient solutions to meet customer part requirements
  • Plan, prototype, and monitor the manufacturing of customer projects
  • Provide Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) feedback to internal and external customers
  • Test, troubleshoot, and validate customer projects as printed on Fabric8Labs' electrochemical additive manufacturing (ECAM) printers

Required Skills and Experience

  • 2+ years of relevant experience, preferably in manufacturing of metal parts
  • Strong knowledge in manufacturing, especially with metal parts
  • Demonstrated ability in using hands-on equipment for manufacturing and troubleshooting
  • Demonstrated ability to drive multidisciplinary technical development
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new processes and technologies
  • Strong and meticulous attention to detail and planning
  • Strong skill in 3D CAD modeling, preferably SOLIDWORKS

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience in Product Data Management (PDM)

Salaries are commensurate with experience and qualifications. The expected salary range for this role is $80,000 to $120,000 annually.
