Job Description:

Entry level electrical engineering position (working under the direction of a Senior Engineer) focused on the performance of relatively routine activities and tasks related to the design of high voltage substations (15kV to 500kV).


Typical duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Create protection & control and wiring designs.
  • Perform calculations such as short circuit, voltage drop, circuit ampacities, etc.
  • Develop single line and schematic diagrams.
  • Prepare material specifications.
  • Monitor budget and schedule for assigned tasks.
  • Work with designers and drafters to guide the development of drawings.

Desired Education, Experience, and Training:

  • BSEE or MSEE required.
  • EIT preferred.
  • 2-5 years' experience in the field with a basic knowledge of applicable theories, practices and accepted procedures.
  • Experience with power system software such as ASPEN, CYME or CAPE.
  • Ability to quickly develop broader knowledge through performing structured functional assignments, such as collecting and analyzing data related to specific tasks.
  • Computer proficiency as well as strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Experience with Auto CAD preferred.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail as well as ability to meet deadlines and complete assignments.
  • Basic written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Commitment to customer service and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
