Protected Tactical Launch Integration Systems Engineer Belong. Connect. Grow. with KBR. The Protected Tactical Satellite Resilient (PTS-R) program launch integrator is responsible for ensuring the seamless integration between the PTS-R satellite and the launch vehicle overseeing all technical aspects of the launch process from pre-launch preparations to liftoff. The MILSATCOM Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (MSEIT) effort provides leading edge Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) for the Space Force's Space Systems Command. We support the Space Force's acquisition of state-of-the-art Military Satellite Communications systems, providing global secure, survivable, and protected communications for our nation's warfighters. Key Responsibilities: Ensure adherence to interfaces between the spacecraft and launch vehicle, ensuring compatibility and proper functionality during launch sequence.
Conduct detailed analysis of launch vehicle constraints and capabilities to optimize spacecraft integration.
Expertise in launch site operations and familiarity with range safety protocols.
Support development of comprehensive launch integration plans, including timelines, milestones, and contingency measures.
Support integration processes at the launch site, coordinating activities between spacecraft teams, launch vehicle providers, and range safety personnel.
Monitor and manage launch readiness reviews, identifying and resolving any technical issues.
Perform detailed technical reviews of launch procedures, test plans, and spacecraft configurations to identify potential risks and ensure compliance with launch requirements.
Provide technical expertise on spacecraft systems and their impact on launch operations.
Foster strong working relationships with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, quality assurance, and external launch providers.
Effectively communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Proactively identify and escalate any critical issues that may impact launch timeline or success. Work Environment: Location: On-site

Working Hours: Standard Qualifications: Required: Active Secret clearance required with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
BS in technical field, such as engineering and computer science.
10+ years demonstrated experience in Systems Engineering
5+ years demonstrated experience leading technical teams
Strong interpersonal skills, communication (oral and written), and presentation skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
Due to security requirements, work is required to be on-site in a secure facility Desired: Minimum of 5 years of experience in spacecraft/launch vehicle integration and launch operations, with a strong understanding of launch vehicle systems and procedures.
Experience working with military and DoD civilians
Demonstrated strong Systems Engineering and Technical Leadership experience
Knowledge and experience in Agile Development and collaboration tools (Jira/Confluence) Basic Compensation: $155,000-$185,000 in California The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
