Join Our Team as a Property Manager.
Are you a hands-on, experienced property management professional with a passion for maintaining and improving outdoor spaces? Do you thrive in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same? Girl Scouts Nation's Capital is looking for a dedicated Property Manager to oversee the maintenance, construction, and operations of our beautiful camp properties and Council-owned sites across Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia.
This is a home-based position with regular travel to our properties and offices, including our main office in Washington, DC. A Council-owned vehicle is provided for work-related travel, including coverage of gas and toll expenses.
What You'll Do
As our Property Manager, you'll play a critical role in ensuring that our properties remain safe, functional, and aligned with the Girl Scout mission. You'll lead property maintenance and improvement initiatives, manage construction projects, and oversee a team of caretakers and contractors. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of our camps and facilities by integrating sustainable solutions, embracing new technologies, and enhancing the overall experience for Girl Scouts and volunteers.
Key Responsibilities
• Schedule repairs, and oversee property upkeep and regular inspections.
• Ensure all sites comply with legal, safety, health, and environmental regulations.
• Manage construction projects, ensuring quality, budget adherence, and timely completion.
• Implement energy-efficient and sustainable property management solutions.
• Collaborate with the Camping Services team to meet programming needs.
• Develop and execute short- and long-term property management strategies.
• Manage budgets for maintenance, construction, and facility operations.
• Negotiate contracts, evaluate vendor performance, and ensure quality service.
• Supervise and train camp caretakers to maintain safety and efficiency.
• Build relationships with local officials, contractors, and community members.
• Engage Girl Scouts and volunteers in property improvement projects.
Who You Are
• You have at least seven years of experience in property management, including maintenance, construction, and regulatory compliance.
• You possess strong knowledge of construction methods, mechanical systems, and building maintenance best practices.
• You're skilled in working with contractors, managing projects, and overseeing budgets.
• You have a deep understanding of safety regulations, environmental standards, and ADA compliance.
• You're an excellent communicator who can interact professionally across various audiences.
• You thrive in an independent work environment, adapt easily to changing priorities, and remain calm under pressure.
• You hold a valid driver's license with a good driving record and are comfortable with regular regional travel, including in Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington, DC.
What to Expect
• This role requires on-call availability to respond to property-related emergencies.
• Work involves outdoor physical activity, including walking on uneven terrain, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working at heights.
• You'll experience varied weather conditions, from hot and humid summers to cold winters.

The starting salary range for this position is $76,000 - $80,000.
