StaffBuffalo is actively hiring a full-time Property Manager for a well-respected community-focused organization in the Buffalo area. This on-site role offers a salary range of $60,000 to $70,000 per year and the chance to lead operations across a unique portfolio of commercial buildings and residential units. The Property Manager will oversee daily operations, direct maintenance efforts, and foster positive tenant relations across approximately 30-40 properties, including apartments, mixed-use buildings, and community-focused sites.

The ideal candidate is organized, empathetic, and solutions-oriented, with a strong foundation in property management and a passion for serving tenants. You'll manage a small team and will be responsible for tenant communication, property upkeep, occupancy, budgeting, and regulatory compliance.

This is an on-site, full-time position in the Buffalo area.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of a diverse property portfolio (residential and commercial)
  • Lead and support a team of direct reports, including maintenance staff and the tenant coordinator
  • Foster strong tenant relationships and manage community and resident engagement efforts
  • Maintain compliance with housing regulations, leasing standards, and property codes
  • Coordinate work orders and ensure timely maintenance and repairs across all properties
  • Prepare and manage budgets, financial reports, and occupancy documentation
  • Attend monthly evening community/tenant meetings and respond to emergency calls as needed
  • Collaborate with local partners and agencies to enhance resident services
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in Property Management or a related field
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Business, Real Estate, or related field preferred
  • Strong knowledge of leasing, property maintenance, and tenant relations
  • Understanding of landlord-tenant laws and fair housing regulations
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and property management software
  • Valid NYS driver's license and access to reliable private transportation
  • Willingness to obtain NYS Notary License within 6 months of hire
  • Flexibility to attend occasional evening meetings and respond to emergency maintenance issues
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have or Willing to Obtain):
  • Certifications such as ARM, CMH, CHW, STAR, or Certified Occupancy Specialist
  • Experience with LIHTC, Section 8, TRACS, and MINC systems
  • Familiarity with Salesforce and electronic work order systems
