We are seeking a motivated Property Accountant to play an integral role as a leading member of our team with responsibilities for overseeing office properties in the greater Bay Area.


The Property Accountant position is only available to Bay Area candidates and represents an exciting opportunity to play a leadership role within a successful boutique real estate advisory and management firm.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Operational

  • Assist with preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financing statements, including supporting schedules and generating reports.
  • Process and track accounts receivable and accounts payable for assigned properties.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of the operating revenue and expense budgets.
  • Represent the company as the point of contact for customers in resolving accounts receivable and accounts payable questions.
  • Perform data entry and updates to the Yardi accounting system including the input of journal entries.
  • Ensure rents are collected and expenses are paid in compliance with lease terms.
  • Coordinate tenant invoicing through the billable work order system.
  • Coordinate tenant invoicing for building tenant authorizations, and other related charges.
  • Prepare monthly security deposit, letters of credit, accounts receivable, mortgage payables and other account reconciliations.
  • Reviews tenant rent and common area maintenance (CAM) recovery charges to ensure accuracy.
  • Perform day- to-day requests as directed by the Director of Operations, Controller, and Property Managers.
  • Ensure all property files are prepared and maintained in an orderly and logical manner, including leases and contracts.

Position Requirements:

  • Associates Degree required with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration preferred.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of related experience required.
  • Experience in customer service, billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable or general accounting preferred.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills coupled with the ability to resolve difficult situations effectively.
  • Proficiency with word processing, database and spreadsheet packages, specifically Yardi, Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Self-confident individual that can operate independently and formulate sound decisions.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, deal with diverse problems, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
