Project Technical Leader- Raleigh, North Carolina

Are you a seasoned engineering professional passionate about delivering impactful water infrastructure projects? We're looking for a Project Technical Leader (PTL) to join a dynamic team focused on design excellence, proactive delivery, and technical leadership across complex water and wastewater initiatives in the Raleigh, North Carolina area.

In this role, you'll serve as a technical lead on high-visibility projects, collaborating closely with Project Managers to shape and execute the technical vision. Your expertise will directly contribute to the success of vital infrastructure such as treatment facilities, pipeline systems, pump stations, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical development of engineering projects with an emphasis on water and wastewater systems.

  • Coordinate technical design delivery, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and internal standards.

  • Proactively identify and resolve technical risks to minimize rework and ensure smooth project execution.

  • Prepare and review engineering designs and documentation across varying complexity levels.

  • Support business development by contributing to proposal efforts, technical papers, and client presentations.

  • Mentor and guide junior engineering staff; support their development and integration into project teams.

  • Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and symposia to promote thought leadership and technical excellence.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering field (Master's preferred).

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license required.

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in water/wastewater design and project delivery.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and drive quality outcomes on large-scale infrastructure projects.

  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory frameworks.

  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
