Roles & Responsibilities
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced contractor preferably based in Washington D.C., willing to move to Washington DC, to support a mega transition project in the Treasury space. The ideal candidate will have hands-on Project Management/Program Management experience, particularly with risk management. The candidate must be a self-starter and be willing to take on additional responsibilities related to budget and resource management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Risk Management:
- Identify/manage program/project risks and their mitigation strategies. Monitor these risks at regular intervals and update the risk register and Clarity PPM tool as needed.
- Follow up with various teams on the current state of the identified risks and identify new, emerging risks and their mitigation strategies in coordination with the risk owners.
- Create/maintain a risk dashboard for management presentations.
- Coordinate with internal and external audit teams as it relates to program risks.
- Budget Management:
- Maintain master spreadsheets of staff and contractors to help in identifying cost allocations.
- Work with PMO to prepare budget variance analysis.
- Periodic clean-up of stale commitments.
- Resource Management:
- Identify resource needs across various teams and help them prepare the terms of reference and other logistics.
- Communicate with external sourcing vendors and schedule interviews.
- Work with internal teams to onboard successful candidates.
- Additional ad hoc work related to project/program management.
Required skills and experience:
- 5+ years of experience as a Project/Program manager or coordinator.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, at all levels.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced project environment.
