Position: Project Manager - Water Main replacement
Location: Kent
Salary: Up to £75,000 per annum + package
The Role:
A leading construction and infrastructure company seeks an experienced Project Manager to oversee the delivery of water mains replacement projects. The successful candidate will ensure high standards of safety, quality, and commercial performance across multiple ongoing projects. This role involves collaboration with engineers, surveyors, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and effective project completion that meets or exceeds client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
General Management
Deliver projects from design to completion, including handover documentation.
Produce financial forecasts, monitor costs, and report on project performance.
Plan resources, review budgets, and chair regular site meetings.
Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and consultants.
Oversee site investigations and implement cost-effective construction solutions.
Ensure compliance with project plans, risk assessments, and procurement procedures.
Maintain detailed site records and prepare estimates for additional work.
Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance
Lead by example in promoting health, safety, and environmental best practices.
Keep HSE documentation updated and conduct regular training for the team.
Ensure subcontractors follow established procedures and standards.
Produce site-specific environmental risk assessments and waste management plans.
Quality Management
Manage and approve Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
Maintain QA documentation and resolve technical queries.
Submit as-built drawings and O&M manuals upon project completion.
Key Requirements:
Essential
Knowledge of contract conditions, CDM regulations, and cost control.
Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Primavera P6).
Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
MEICA capabilities.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CSCS Manager's Card, SMSTS, NEBOSH Construction Certificate).
Strong communication, team management, and problem-solving skills.
Desirable
Chartered Engineer status (CEng MICE).
Familiarity with the JCT form of contract.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience managing water infrastructure projects and a proven ability to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to influence and motivate teams are essential.
