About the Role:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Project Manager for our Transportation Division in Tucson, AZ. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in transportation-related construction, including highways, roadways, and bridges, as well as underground utility infrastructure. Candidates should have proven longevity in previous roles and a well-rounded portfolio of successful projects, particularly those involving asphalt.
Key Qualifications:
Extensive experience in transportation projects such as highways, roadways, and bridges
Knowledge of underground utilities including water, gas, electric, and piping
Versatile project experience-asphalt experience is a strong plus
Demonstrated stability and career longevity in past positions
What You'll Be Doing:
Estimator Responsibilities:
Apply innovative and creative thinking to the project estimating process
Conduct thorough risk analyses for each bid
Prepare and submit estimates in alignment with contract specifications
Fully understand project plans, specifications, and scopes of work
Lead and mentor Project Engineers/Assistant Estimators in:
Distributing RFPs to subcontractors and vendors
Coordinating quantity take-offs
Reviewing quotes from subcontractors and vendors
Participating in project hand-off meetings
Project Management Responsibilities:
Manage and coordinate project execution with internal teams, subcontractors, and owners
Attend and lead project meetings to address safety, quality, schedule, and productivity
Monitor job cost tracking and prepare monthly forecasts
Submit pay applications and resolve outstanding project issue
Guide and mentor Project Engineers in:
Reviewing subcontractor pay applications
Preparing and submitting change orders and RFIs
Coordinating project closeout documentation
Perform other duties as needed, as responsibilities may evolve based on project demands
Relevant Project Types:
Infrastructure: Highways, roadways, bridges, underground utilities, earthwork, concrete, paving
Utilities: Wastewater treatment plants, booster and water treatment systems, reservoir rehabilitation
Development: Site development and related infrastructure
Job Order Contracts (JOC): Experience with JOC projects is a plus
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
Regularly required to sit, use hands, communicate effectively, and operate computers
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and navigate active construction sites
Work involves both office and field environments, including varied outdoor weather conditions
Exposure to noise, dust, machinery, and uneven terrain
Occasional extended hours may be necessary to meet project deadlines
