Overview We're hiring a Project Manager to join the Therapeutic Assays Department , supporting the delivery of high-impact client projects in drug discovery , iPSC-derived models , and functional tissue assays . This hybrid role blends client-facing project management , scientific coordination , and commercial execution , ensuring the delivery of customized cell and tissue-based assay solutions.
You'll work closely with a multidisciplinary team of internal scientists in Seattle to push projects forward while representing the voice of the client. Your primary responsibility is to manage and maintain active scientific service relationships - not generate new leads, but close, coordinate, and grow existing accounts. You'll report directly to the Sr. Director of the department and serve as a key operator within a high-growth, scientifically-driven services team.
Essential Job Responsibilities 1. Client Engagement & Relationship Management
• Act as the primary operational and scientific liaison for client accounts in the Therapeutic Assays portfolio.
• Develop long-term, trusted relationships with biotech, pharma, and academic partners involved in preclinical R&D .
• Own all client communications, including technical updates, timeline alignment, scope discussions, and delivery expectations.
• Confidently manage scientific communication dynamics - including pushing back when timelines, feasibility, or scope require adjustment.
2. Project Execution & Scientific Coordination
• Collaborate with internal R&D teams to coordinate the day-to-day execution of assays involving iPSC-derived cells, functional endpoints (e.g., contractility, electrophysiology), and custom workflows.
• Oversee operational logistics: timelines, resource allocation, data handling, and technical reporting.
• Ensure high-quality project execution from kickoff to close, with seamless integration between scientific teams and client goals.
3. Business Flow & Commercial Execution
• Support the Business Development team in closing and onboarding new projects , ensuring scientific fit and operational feasibility.
• Translate client goals into tailored assay strategies , balancing scientific rigor with executional reality.
• Help build and sustain a robust pipeline of client-facing therapeutic testing projects , ensuring excellence in technical delivery and service.
4. Strategic & Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Serve as the client voice in internal resource planning, capacity forecasting, and strategic decision-making.
• Partner with departmental leadership to align tactical project execution with broader business and scientific objectives.
• Identify opportunities for new assay types , protocol refinements, or expanded offerings based on client feedback and scientific trends.
5. CRM & Internal Reporting
• Track all project activity and client engagement using internal CRM and project management tools .
• Generate reports summarizing project milestones , client health, risks, and revenue-impacting insights.
Ideal Candidate Profile Education & Scientific Background
• Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in a relevant field: stem cell biology, biomedical engineering, tissue engineering, pharmacology, or related discipline.
• Experience delivering or coordinating scientific services in a CRO, biotech, or pharma environment - ideally with hands-on exposure to drug screening assays or iPSC models .
