LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS OR CERTIFICATIONS

Required: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Project Manager for Health System Quality and Safety is responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing projects related to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives. This role involves coordinating with various departments, managing resources, and ensuring project goals are met within the specified timeline and budget. A key focus will be improving performance in national ranking systems such as Vizient, USNWR, Leapfrog, and CMS rankings. This position will report to the Chief Medical & Clinical Innovation Officer.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Develop and implement project plans for quality and safety initiatives.
  • Manages and drives projects and initiatives through the use of effective project management tools, techniques, and methodologies.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure project alignment with organizational goals.
  • Establish project success criteria and communicate them to all stakeholders throughout the entire project lifecycle.
  • Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to ensure successful completion.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Prepares and presents project reports to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among project team members.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices.
  • Manage project budgets and resources effectively.
  • Provide training and support to staff on quality and safety protocols.
  • Focus on improving performance in national ranking systems such as Vizient, USNWR, Leapfrog, and CMS rankings.
Marginal or Periodic Functions:
  • Serves as a department representative on committees as assigned
  • Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.
  • Performs related duties as required.

  • Ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions that benefit the project and its stakeholders.
  • Ability to adjust to changing circumstances, requirements, or priorities without losing focus on overall project objectives.
  • Ability to assign tasks effectively and trust team members to complete their responsibilities.
  • Ability to pay close attention to details to ensure that no aspect of the project is overlooked, from planning through to execution.
  • Ability to understand and manage emotions-both your own and those of others-during stressful or high-pressure situations, fostering positive relationships.
  • Knowledge of identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks that may impact the project's success.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools and project tracking software.
