The project:
Join our project management consultancy that operates across five global hubs, overseeing work for leading organizations in both public and private sectors. We are seeking a Mechanical Handling & Moorings Assistant Package Manager to work in Plymouth on a large infrastructure project supporting HMNB Devonport. Mace is engaged as a Delivery Partner to Babcock for upgrading existing facilities to support nuclear fleet submarines, including dock upgrades for the Astute programme. Your responsibilities will include planning, directing, managing, and overseeing the Mechanical Handling and Mooring works to meet client goals within schedule, budget, and safety standards. Effective communication with clients, contractors, and stakeholders is essential.

Requirements:
- Experience with engineering design processes.
- Familiarity with procurement and NEC contracts.
- Experience in marine environment projects involving mechanical handling/cranes.
- Strong organizational, influencing, and communication skills.
- Relevant engineering/marine degree or equivalent qualifications.
- Certifications such as CSCS, with nuclear/defense experience preferred.
Additional desirable skills:
- Knowledge of crane design standards (BS 7121, BE EN 13001, BS EN 13849).
- Understanding of legislation like CDM 2015, PUWER 1998, LOLER 1998.
- Membership in professional bodies (RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE).
- Experience in project management within property or infrastructure sectors.
- Awareness of sustainability considerations in projects.
