POSITION OVERVIEW

The Project Manager is responsible for the successful execution of projects, ensuring timely delivery, effective communication, and risk management. This role works closely with stakeholders to define project scope, manage risks, and report on project progress. The Project Manager ensures alignment with organizational objectives and maintains high standards in project execution.

SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Leads cross-functional workstreams during the M&A due diligence phase to assess target firm operations, technology, compliance, and culture, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Drives post-close integration efforts by coordinating ongoing workstreams across departments to onboard acquired firms onto the Kovitz platform, ensuring a seamless transition and operational continuity.
  • Leads assigned projects to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and scope of project.
  • Develops, maintains, and revises proposals for assigned projects including project objectives, technologies, systems, information specifications, timelines, funding, and staffing.
  • Sets and tracks project milestones in the project management software; manages and accounts for unforeseen delays, then realigns schedules and expectations as needed.
  • Establishes and implements project communication plans, providing status updates to affected staff, stakeholders, and senior management.
  • Collects, analyzes, and summarizes information and trends as needed to prepare project status reports to senior and executive management.
  • Developing, maintaining, and continuously improving internal documentation.
  • Actively contributing to team by working collaboratively, identifying opportunities to improve the firm's project management best practices, and contributing to Kovitz IMO knowledge base.
PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent education and experience or related project management certifications.
  • Minimum 7+ years of Project Management experience.
  • PMP, PgMP, or an equivalent certification. Candidates must be willing to obtain these certifications if not already possessed.
  • Experience with project management in the financial services industry.
  • Experience managing projects with multiple stakeholders and tight timelines.
  • Experience using Asana or related project management software.
  • Experience with Agile, SQL, JIRA, or other business analysis tools.
  • Experience with software migrations.
  • Patience and excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to take direction as well as work independently.
  • Notable attention to detail, self-initiated follow-through, and outstanding time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to juggle multiple and competing tasks and demands.
