Primary Talent Partners has a new 6 month contract Project Manager openping with a biopharmaceutical client operating out of New Brunswick, NJ. Potential for contract renewal or direct-hire opportunities are dependent upon performance and company budget.

Pay: $90 - $96/hr; W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment.
Schedule: Mon - Fri standard business hours; 40-hour work week

Description: We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and deliver digital capability (DC) projects within a Business Unit or functional group. This individual will oversee the execution of small to medium-sized initiatives that support strategic digital goals, delivering incremental value through agile project methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead cross-functional project teams to deliver business value aligned with digital capability objectives.
  • Manage project planning, execution, and delivery for assigned initiatives within the DC portfolio.
  • Identify project dependencies, evaluate risks, and communicate updates to stakeholders and management.
  • Ensure all deliverables, schedules, and budgets align with organizational standards and best practices.
  • Monitor and report on project performance, financial health, and milestone achievement.
  • Proactively address roadblocks and engage teams to maintain project momentum.
  • Coordinate resource planning and allocation across enterprise teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Manage 1-2 external vendors, ensuring they meet execution milestones and stay within budget.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation and deliver timely status reports to sponsors.
  • Support corrective action planning for at-risk or challenged projects.
  • Co-lead the setup of project management governance structures with IT Business Partners (ITBPs) and Digital Capability Managers (DCMs).
  • Apply and promote project management best practices including Agile, SDLC, and PMF frameworks.
  • Assist with financial oversight, vendor coordination, and procurement processes.
  • Collaborate on business case development, applying insights and experience to improve project forecasting and ROI.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience managing small to medium-sized digital or IT projects.
  • Strong understanding of Agile, SDLC, and other project management methodologies.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and vendor relationships effectively.
  • Familiarity with governance frameworks and enterprise IT environments.
