Your Opportunity Stantec's Project Manager position offers opportunities to bring your experience in design and managing a team for the successful delivery of projects through all phases of projects (initiation, planning, design execution, progress and cost monitoring and control, and close-out). This role will impact and contribute to the growth of our Community Development Group in southern New Mexico through fostering and promotion of client relationships as well as providing technical guidance, funding support, team development, and business development. We have a forty-year history with our local clients including design and construction oversight of roadway, water, and wastewater, parks, trails, historic renovations, zoos, and private development projects. Your Key Responsibilities + Meet with public and private clients regularly to update them on project progress, understand their needs, scope future projects, and provide grant funding support related to cost estimates and exhibits. + Developing proposals and managing the approved scope, budget and schedule are a key role. + Lead the Design Team on civil engineering related services. + Develop, track, update, forecast and modify the project schedule and budget throughout all phases of the project. + Prepare project status reports on a regular basis. + Review and approval of invoices and change orders associated with the project. + Primary point of contact and representative to internal partners and clients. + Collaborate with architects, planners, landscape architects, surveyors, and other technical disciplines to bring projects to fruition. Qualifications Your Capabilities and Credentials + Strong understanding of civil engineering plans and specifications. + Strong understanding of local design and construction permitting / approval process and requirements. + Excellent interpersonal skills, and team oriented. + Strong written and oral communication skills. + Excellent organizational skills and problem-solving abilities. + Local project resume and experience strongly preferred. + Possess a valid driver's license and good driving record. Education and Experience + Minimum 10 years of experience in Civil Engineering - road design and/or private development + Degree in Civil Engineering + Registered Professional Engineer in New Mexico Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Work from home and hybrid work schedules may be accommodated.
