POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

The Project Manager will be responsible for the daily tasks and responsibilities of running small ($1M) to large ($50M) mechanical construction projects. The Project Manager will be responsible for managing project level relationships with our employees, subcontractors, vendors, architects, engineers, construction managers, superintendents, mechanics from many trades, and owners.


KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Bid work to new and existing clients with the assistance of the Preconstruction Department
  • Learn how to do piping take-offs for change orders using Quote Soft estimating software
  • Work with Coordination, Fabrication, Tool & Trucking Departments to manage the operations of the projects under your management
  • Assemble all necessary contract documents and incorporate ASI's, bulletins, etc. that are issued from the General Contractor, CM, or Owner into the initial contract documents.
  • Review and comprehend project specifications and drawings.
  • Purchase material, equipment, & subcontracts for your projects.
  • Prepare and track submittal packages for your projects
  • Complete jobsite visits to compare estimate with actual installation.
  • Work with Foremen to meet project schedules, labor budgets, and provide a quality project.
  • Review and track labor productivity.
  • Manage subcontractors and vendors to meet project schedules and provide a quality project.
  • Work with Safety Officers to maintain safe & healthy work practices.
  • Review and track project costs to report to Sr. management
  • Prepare, track, and finalize change orders.
  • Prepare and maintain IOM's per the contract documents for submission to the GC or Owner.
  • Manage project close out and commissioning process.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or business administration or equivalent trade education and industry knowledge.
  • 5 years' experience in mechanical & plumbing project management.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical facility construction and maintenance.
  • Experience with installation and maintenance of ASME B31.9 building services piping systems and B31.3 process piping systems.
  • Strong multi-tasking and positive interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of employees.
