Chicago, IL Role Description: Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager (TPM) with Scrum Master expertise to lead cross-functional teams in delivering high-quality software products. The ideal candidate will blend technical project management skills with Agile/Scrum methodologies to drive project execution, remove impediments, and foster a collaborative environment. You will work closely with engineering, product, and business teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and with high efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Project Management: - Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders. - Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and roadmaps using Agile methodologies. - Track project progress, manage risks, and implement mitigation strategies. - Ensure adherence to budgets, timelines, and quality standards. - Coordinate with engineering, QA, UX, and product teams to align on priorities. Scrum Master Duties: - Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and demos . - Remove blockers and foster a self-organizing, high-performing team. - Coach teams on Agile/Scrum best practices and continuous improvement. - Ensure backlog grooming, sprint execution, and delivery commitments are met. - Promote a culture of transparency, collaboration, and iterative development. Technical Leadership: - Understand technical architecture, dependencies, and risks in software projects. - Work closely with engineers to assess feasibility and trade-offs. - Bridge communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Ensure alignment with DevOps, CI/CD, and security best practices. Stakeholder Management: - Communicate project status, risks, and dependencies to leadership. - Manage expectations with internal teams, clients, and vendors. - Drive decision-making and conflict resolution in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications & Skills: - Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). - Experience: - 10+ years in technical project/program management in software development. - 5+ years as a Scrum Master (CSM, PSM, or SAFe certification preferred). - Hands-on experience with Agile tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, Trello, etc.). - Background in software development (coding experience is a plus). - Skills: - Strong knowledge of SDLC, Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and DevOps . - Excellent leadership, facilitation, and conflict-resolution skills. - Ability to manage multiple projects in parallel. - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Nice to Have: - PMP, SAFe, or Lean Six Sigma certification. - Experience in cloud technologies (AWS/Azure/GCP). - Background in SaaS, fintech, or enterprise software.
