CarmichaelUK is seeking an experienced Utility Project Manager to work on the HS2 project in the Buckinghamshire area. This is a fantastic opportunity to take full ownership of the delivery of multi-utility diversion packages, including water, gas, electricity, and communications assets, in a fast-paced, technically challenging environment.

About the Role:

You'll lead on the full project lifecycle from pre-construction documentation and planning to on-site execution and handover. This role will involve day-to-day management of the utility diversions, stakeholder coordination, RAMS preparation, progress reporting, and on-site supervision to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with programme targets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the end-to-end delivery of utility diversion projects (gas, water, electric, comms)

  • Write and review RAMS, WPPs, ITPs, and ensure accurate daily site records

  • Oversee on-site health & safety, site coordination, and programme updates

  • Represent the contractor at weekly client meetings and ensure positive client engagement

  • Manage subcontractors and direct site teams to deliver works in a safe, productive, and compliant manner

  • Coordinate across multiple stakeholders to minimise disruption and maintain schedule

  • Ensure all works meet specification, quality standards, and are recorded properly for handover

Requirements:
  • Proven experience in the utilities sector delivering at least two of the following: water, gas, electricity, comms

  • Strong understanding of utility coordination, planning, and compliance on major civils schemes

  • Excellent organisational, leadership, and stakeholder management skills

  • Able to lead a team on-site and liaise across internal and external functions

Qualifications:
  • CSCS Black Card Essential

  • SMSTS (CITB) Essential

  • NRSWA Supervisor Preferred

  • First Aid at Work Required

  • TWC (Temporary Works Coordinator) Preferred

  • Relevant Project Management Qualification

  • Full UK Driving Licence
