Position Information Classification Title Research and Public Service Manager FLSA Exempt FTE 1.00 Minimum Qualifications Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field. Expertise in glycobiology, analytical chemistry, biochemistry, and/or project/laboratory management. Position Summary Play a leadership role in planning, directing, and coordinating research efforts among multiple laboratories at UGA with PI with regards to the NSF BioFoundry awarded to UGA. Be the point person for interactions with external users of BioFoundry resources and work closely with PIs to manage relationships. Be in charge of regulatory compliances and budgetary management. Take the lead on maintaining an active outreach plan including management of website and social media platforms. Be a central point of contact for maintaining communication between UGA researchers and the National Science Foundation. The ideal individual will be able to evaluate the science and needed resources of external/internal applicants seeking to work with the BioFoundry and work collaboratively with them in proposal building and, in specific instances, the execution of the research. Duties/Responsibilities Duties/Responsibilities Manage outward facing interactions including collaborations with external users and collaborators (academic and corporate) of the BioFoundry and with the NSF. This includes serving as the Chair of the External Users Committee. Percentage of time 30 Duties/Responsibilities Manage internal interactions among co-PIs, Key Personnel, and UGA Users. This includes coordinating meetings, following progress of goals/KPIs for various projects, and serving as Deputy of the BioFoundry when the PI is not available. Percentage of time 25 Duties/Responsibilities Oversee total and individual co-PI/PI/key personnel/user budgets working with administrative staff at the CCRC and be in charge of preparing reports for funding agency. Percentage of time 15 Duties/Responsibilities Compliance and regulation oversight including but not limited to making sure all safety and right to know training occurs for members and collaborators of the BioFoundry. Percentage of time 10 Duties/Responsibilities Manage outreach plans including social media presence and website management. Percentage of time 10 Duties/Responsibilities Work with key external/internal collaborators with BioFoundry resources to achieve goals of accepted projects to the BioFoundry.
