Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Project Manager role located in Escondido, CA. The Project Manager Heavy Civil Grading & Excavation will oversee day-to-day operations, including project planning, budget management, and on-site coordination for heavy civil grading and excavation projects.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in project management for heavy civil grading and excavation projects
- Strong leadership and communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Proficiency in project planning, budgeting, and scheduling software/tools
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in heavy civil construction
- A minimum of Five (5) years of relevant experience in land development and/or public works; or the equivalent work experience of 8 (8) years in the industry. Qualified candidates will also have a minimum of three (3) years of management experience supervising the work of operators, laborers, and other project support staff.
- Strong independent thought and decision-making abilities
- Possess demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills
- Exhibit management ability
- Be adept in establishing and maintaining strong and positive working relationships with clients/public-agency personnel and in-house staff.
- Expert in reading and understanding Grading & Improvement plans
- Possesses working knowledge of business and management principles associated with strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, production procedures, interview and hiring methods and the coordination of people
- Negotiate effectively
- Demonstrates a high level of leadership & management ability; accepts and responds appropriately to constructive feedback with others and applies seasoned time management
- Relates well and maintains a high level of respect and confidence from co-workers to public agencies
- Demonstrates a high level of competence in written and oral communication
- Accepts and carries out responsibility for the design team's direction, control and planning; sets realistic goals and makes plans independently
- Ability to perform constructability reviews
Candidates managerial experience must include the following
- Management of project schedules and budgets
- Preparation and management of contracts, fee proposals, and scopes of work; significant experience in client and preparation of contracts, fee proposals, and scopes of work
- Significant experience in client and public-agency interactions.
