Job Summary


As the Project Manager - Finance, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing finance-related projects within the organization and work on broader Finance data and process improvement work. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, accounting, IT, and operations, to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget. Your goal will be to support business objectives by improving financial processes, implementing technology solutions, and managing organizational change.


Key Responsibilities


  • Project Planning and Execution: Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets for finance-related initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Stakeholder Management: Engage and communicate effectively with all project stakeholders, including finance teams, senior leadership, and external partners, to understand requirements and manage expectations.
  • Resource Allocation: Coordinate resources, both internal and external, to ensure that project goals are met.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and create risk mitigation plans. Proactively manage and address issues that may impact project delivery.
  • Process and Improvement: Analyze existing finance processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Financial Systems Implementation: Lead or support the implementation of financial software and tools, ensuring they meet business requirements and compliance standards.
  • Project Documentation and Reporting: Maintain thorough project documentation, create progress reports, and present updates to senior leadership and other stakeholders.
  • Change Management: Develop and implement change management strategies to facilitate project adoption and reduce resistance across the organization.
  • Data governance and management:
  • Be familiar with and/or know how to develop ETL processes for aggregating, cleaning, and structuring data from multiple financial and operational systems and manage data.
  • Support Accounting month-end close activities with help / know how on data extraction and transformation processes and integration tool implementation work
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement within data workflows, focusing on automation and repeatability.
  • Work with Finance team on improving data management across Finance and beyond

Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; PMP, CAPM, or similar project management certification is preferred. Data Analytics course work a material plus.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in project management, with at least 3 years in a finance-focused role.
  • Strong understanding of finance principles, including accounting month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Asana, Jira).
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and finance software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday).
  • Knowledge of data ETL and visualization tools, like Tableau, Power BI and similar.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

Physical Requirements


  • This position requires the physical capabilities to work in an office environment, which may include prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.   • This position may require the ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
  • This position is required to work onsite 4 days per week.
