Job Details

Responsibilities:

• Represent clients in court or before government agencies, presenting evidence to defend or prosecute in civil litigation.
• Conduct legal research and analysis of law sources such as statutes, legal articles, and legal codes to prepare legal documents, such as briefs, pleadings, appeals, contracts, and agreements.
• Manage all phases of the litigation process from investigation, pleadings, and discovery to pre-trial, trial, settlement, and appeal.
• Handle depositions, hearings, trials, and client meetings.
• Negotiate settlements in legal disputes while advocating for the best interests of the client.
• Develop strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases.
• Prepare and draft legal documents, such as wills, deeds, patent applications, mortgages, leases, and contracts.
• Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses.
• Manage, organize, and maintain documents in paper or electronic filing systems.
• Evaluate findings and develop strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Must be a member in good standing with the Florida Bar.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in litigation with a focus on real estate, construction law, and business law.
• Proven background in handling depositions, hearings, trials, and mediations.
• Extensive knowledge of litigation cases, legal disputes, contracts, agreements, claims settlement, and e-discovery.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to think strategically.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High degree of professional ethics, integrity, and gravitas.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and willingness to take on challenging tasks.
• Proficient in legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop strong client relationships.
