Project Manager - Civil Engineering
UK Wide - Northern Based
We're working with a civil engineering contractor looking to appoint a Project Manager to lead and deliver Civil Engineering schemes throughout the UK. Typical projects include pipelines, drainage, earthworks, and energy from waste, up to 12m in value.
This is a hands-on role overseeing site operations, commercial performance, and client relationships from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day operations across civil engineering sites
- Lead site teams and subcontractors to deliver work safely and efficiently
- Develop and manage project programmes, ensuring works are delivered on time
- Monitor budgets, track costs, and work with commercial teams on valuations and variations
- Maintain site SHEQ standards and ensure all reporting is accurate and up to date
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to team development
Requirements:
- Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
- Proven experience delivering civil engineering projects (e.g., roads, drainage, groundworks)
- Solid understanding of contract administration (NEC preferred)
- Strong leadership, planning, and communication skills
- Comfortable taking full responsibility for site performance
