Your Opportunity The Project Manager / Project Engineer will lead engineering teams on transportation construction projects. As a leader you will be responsible for the oversight and management of a team/s performing Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) services on construction projects. Additionally, you will help ensure the development and delivery of successful civil construction projects such as bridges, railroads, roads, airports, harbors, dams, pipelines, tunnels, and power plants. This role offers flexibility in locations throughout Florida, including Pensacola, Jacksonville, Tallahassee and Orlando. This role will provide direct supervision; act as an advisor and actively be involved leading the CEI team to meet schedules and resolve problems. You will direct a highly complex and specialized construction engineering administration inspection program. The Project Manager / Senior Project Engineer will be responsible for managing the scope and integration of subconsultants and employees. This role will lead business development and the delivery of proposals. Your Key Responsibilities + Manages transportation construction projects completely, including the managing of client relationships and bringing in new clients. + Responsible for the review and sealing of projects certifying that they meet and substantially comply with the contract and specification requirements. + Supervises the work of other engineers, specialists and field inspectors. + Interpret and ensure that the team is applying the project specifications and construction documents as intended. + Responsible for overseeing invoicing, managing and monitoring financial performance of project budgets using PM dashboard access. + Performs on technically complex projects and acts as a technical resource by providing guidance to other team members. + Liaise with clients, agencies and others to obtain and determine project requirements and approvals. + Stays up to date on regulatory changes and may establish working relationships with regulatory officials. + May write and negotiate proposals as project issues arise with clients or reviewing agencies. + Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned. Qualifications Your Capabilities and Credentials + Efficient project management of multiple concurrent projects. + Ability to check the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manages time to meet project budget and schedule. + Understands client expectations, budgeting, proposal writing, invoicing and collecting accounts receivable. + Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite. + Effective communicator and able to work on and lead teams. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or related field Registered in the State of Florida as a Professional Engineer (or if registered in another state, the ability to obtain registration in Florida within six months). 10 years of engineering experience (5 of which are in major road and/or bridge construction). Experience working with or for the Florida Department of Transportation is preferred. Position will primarily work in an office setting but occasional field work will be required.
