Job Title: Project Management Lead

Location: Thousand Oaks - Rancho Conejo , CA


About the Role:

As a Project Management Lead, you will be an important team member of the Portfolio Management Office (PMO) supporting site projects across the Thousand Oaks Portfolio ensuring supply of products to patients and value to our shareholders through supporting ongoing operations, implementing improvements, and allowing growth. You will promote Takeda's Project Management Methodology (PMM), associated PMO processes and apply their project specific leadership and management skills to manage projects of different types, sizes, and complexity through the full life cycle of the project to ensure delivery within scope, time, and budget. You will report to Portfolio & Project Management Lead.


How you will Contribute:
  • As a part of the PMO you will be accountable to ensure adherence of the Takeda PMM by all PMs on site, support the Takeda Project Portfolio Life Cycle Management (LCM) system and be an expert in Project Management at the site.
  • You will use project management tools to collect data to monitor & report on the progress of projects in the Portfolio and for intervention and with project teams.
  • You will review phase gate request deliverables for project phase completion and ensure teams focus on improving project management product quality.
  • You will provide training and support to project stakeholders (project team members, sponsors and steering committee members) in project and portfolio management best practices, business processes, methodology and tools.
  • You will improve site Project Management practices & performance based on lessons learned and relevant KPIs.
  • You will help deploy strategy into our organization by helping facilitate the connection between the execution of the project portfolio and strategic programs.
  • You will lead cross-functional project teams and ensure project deliverables through all project phases (initiate through track) by managing project documentation, resources, costs, labor, purchases, invoice reconciliation, scheduling, budget, risk, communications, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), quality compliance and maintain scope. Ensure projects are implemented within shared goals and timelines.
  • You will provide input to the project prioritization process and participate in other important strategic portfolio processes to ensure prioritization and funding to support site goals.
  • You will adjust work plans, to meet changing requirements. Make or escalate decisions for potential or actual impacts to successful implementation and closure of the project.
  • You will anticipate and positively resolve conflict situations, anticipate and eliminate or minimize barriers to progress, and implement mitigation for issues.
  • You will manage expectations and communicate project status and escalations with project sponsor, senior management, and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • You will influences and drives change and supports others in the change management process and demonstrated leadership in leading teams of indirect reports.

What you bring to Takeda:
  • B.S. with 6 years or MS with 4 years of project management experience required leading complex cross-functional and technical projects (Process, equipment, commissioning and validation of systems, infrastructure, facilities, utilities, IT equipment, Digital).
  • Pharmaceutical, Biotech (cGMP) or regulated industry experience would be ideal.
  • PMP certification ; Lean/Six Sigma certification would be ideal.
  • Demonstrated experience applying project management methodologies.
  • Experience supporting projects in pharmaceutical/biotechnology regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Have a broad knowledge of business operations (principles and practices) and knowledge of regulated industries (GxP, FDA, ISPE, GAMP, ASTM E2500 standards).
  • Software knowledge: Proficiency in Microsoft Applications including Outlook, Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Teams, and PowerBI. Ariba, Veeva, SAP, and Trackwise would be ideal.

Important Considerations:

At Takeda, our patients rely on us to deliver quality products. As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product. In this role, you may:

  • Combination of sedentary work and walking around observing conditions in the facility
  • May occasionally climb ladders; may be required to lift up to 25lbs.
  • Normal office environment; inside working conditions
  • Will have significant interaction with other people
  • Pace may be fast and job completion demands may be high
  • May occasionally be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and other clean room garments.
  • May require availability after hours and/or on call as needed. May require occasional off-shift or weekend hours to support project execution.

U.S. Base Salary Range:

$86,500.00 - $135,960.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.


U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-termincentives. U.S.based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others.
