Job Summary Under the direction of the Senior Project Leader, the Project Leader is responsible for managing the project feasibility, flow, and deadlines for new and enhanced products as assigned.
Essential Functions: - Ensure that assigned product development projects are completed on time and on budget.
- Create project timelines to support customers' requirements and sales force.
- Catalyst for process changes needed to achieve new product launches which are on time and on budget.
- Effectively manage the project flow between marketing, engineering, tooling, quality, purchasing, and manufacturing.
- Develop tools and arrange meetings that monitor and communicate project status and motivate departments to produce on-time results.
- Manage cross-functional weekly project review meetings.
- Liaison to Global sister company designed/US manufactured projects.
- Work with product managers in determining project feasibility from a marketing and manufacturing perspective.
- Work with design engineers and marketing to ensure that products are designed to customer and corporate expectations.
- Work with the tooling department to ensure that tools are designed and manufactured on time and in accordance with marketing's long-term strategic plans.
- Work with manufacturing for optimal efficiencies given the project's parameters.
- Monitor projects on a continual basis and conduct product development effectiveness analyses which will be used to improve processes.
Other Functions - Work on special marketing projects as determined by the Senior Project Manager
- Proactively generate innovative and creative solutions to improve margins.
- May require off-hour communications due to our global business
Success in this role will require - Ability to understand detailed tooling and product drawings
- Understanding of sales/marketing, tooling, and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to motivate and effectively lead product development teams to on-time and on-budget results.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Core tool understanding (FMEA, SPC, APQP, PPAP, MSA, etc )
- Knowledge of TS 16949 quality and ISO14001 environmental systems.
- Customer-oriented focus - the ability to work toward win-win.
- Willingness to conduct off-hour communications due to our global business
What You'll Bring - Bachelor's degree in a marketing or engineering-related field from an accredited college/university.
- Three plus years of experience in related marketing or engineering fields.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills
- Experience initiating and managing projects (MS Project, Excel, gated process).
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Ability to travel domestically as needed.
