•   A copy of your Resume Plan, analyze, recommend, install, upgrade and support the County's data center, core, wide and local networks including but not limited to: servers, cameras, doors, routers, switches, firewalls, data and voice communication lines, operating systems and other types of software. Participate in the design and planning of infrastructure to support new applications and technologies. Plan and manage various IT projects. Maintain County phone and voicemail system including all related components.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
•  Plan, analyze, recommend, install, upgrade and support Microsoft server technology including (but not limited to) server and desktop operating systems, active directory and group policy
•  Plan, analyze, recommend, install, upgrade and support Microsoft application server technology including (but not limited to) WSUS, SMS and SQL
•  Plan, analyze, recommend, install, upgrade and support Veeam and Symantec Backup Exec, tape drives and libraries, proper backup and data preservation techniques
•  Plan, analyze, recommend, install, upgrade, and support data center physical elements (cooling, power, etc.)
•  Advise Operational Network Manager on recurring hardware and software problems.
•  Respond to user requests for service that have been created via the IT work order system.
•  Plan or organize assigned tasks.
•  Refer users to IT help desk when requests are out of provided job scope or unsupported.
•  Assist IT department in the installation, testing, troubleshooting and repair of category 5 and 6 network cable and related hardware, such as patch panels and wall plates.
•  Utilize IT work order system in responding to, updating and closing user work order requests in a documented and organized manner.
•  Maintain County issued vehicle and equipment in a clean and good working condition.
•  Regular and timely attendance is required SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This is a non-supervisory position.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school graduation or its equivalent, plus at least two years of experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Knowledge, Skills and/or ability

KNOWLEDGE OF
Knowledge of information systems analysis, design and development; in-depth knowledge of networking techniques and technology including bridges, routers, local and wide area networking protocols; methods, procedures, techniques, materials and equipment utilized in the installation, repair and maintenance of computers and electronic equipment. Skill in the application of MS Servers, Cisco and Aruba hardware and software including (but not limited to) Nexus, PoE switches, access points, layer 2 and 3 switches, data and voice routers, VG224, WLC, PAM, Cisco IPT, Cisco CCTV and door security hardware and software and IOS, Cisco Call Manager and Unity, Cisco Voice Over IP devices and technologies, DVR's, SQL Servers, active directory, IIS, Microsoft Windows. Knowledge of Microsoft server operating systems, Network security and redundancy, N+1 power and cooling, 802.11 wireless, security and bridges, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, NAT and firewalls, and other operating systems; analytical problem solving; conducting needs assessments; and creation of complete and concise documentation. Ability to maintain cooperative working relationship with those contacted in the course of work activities; effectively communicate verbally and in writing; and maintain files, records, and reports; troubleshoot difficult hardware and software problems; and meet project deadlines; describe complex technical systems in non-technical terms.

SKILL/ABILITY TO
Organize and prioritize tasks to be completed; operate computers, systems, software, and related equipment for the county; write reports, letters, and memos; read letters and memos; analyze various situations and determine the best solution; operate office equipment, such as copy machine and facsimile machine; communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, Commissioner's, and county employees.

Must have and maintain a valid, clear driving record.

HEALTH / DENTAL INSURANCE- Regular full-time employees are provided general medical, hospitalization, and dental insurance coverage. This is free to the employee if they take a yearly HRA and have negative Cotinine test yearly. Employees may obtain coverage under the group plan for family members at their own expense. Employees become eligible for this coverage on the 91st day of employment. Prices for other insurance are listed

LONG TERM DISABILITY- Regular full-time employees working over 30 hours per week are eligible for long-term disability benefits. This benefit becomes effective on the 1st day of the month following six months of continuous employment with the county

CAFETERIA PLAN - All regular full-time employees are eligible to enroll in the supplemental insurance portion of the county cafeteria plan on the 91st day of employment, or annually during an enrollment period for the following plan year of January 1 through December 31. They will not be eligible for enrollment in the Flexible Spending Accounts for medical reimbursement and/or dependent care until the first annual enrollment for the plan year beginning after 1 full year of employment.

DEFERRED COMPENSATION PLANS - Midland County offers five deferred compensation plans. Enrollment in one of these plans can be done at any time after the 91st day of employment.

RETIREMENT PLAN - The county is a member of the Texas County & District Retirement System (TCDRS). Regular employees are required to become members of TCDRS and are eligible for this benefit immediately upon employment. Employees automatically deposit 7% of their salary. Temporary employees are not eligible to become members of TCDRS. The county matches employee deposits by 200% and interest at retirement. An employee is vested after 8 years of service. An employee may retire with full benefits after 8 years of service and attainment of age 60, or after 30 years of service, or at the time the employee qualifies under the "Rule of 75". The "Rule of 75" is defined as when the employee's age combined with years of service (rounded down to whole years) equal to 75 or more.

DEATH BENEFIT PLANS - There are two (2) types of death benefit plans provided by Midland County to all employees who participate in the Texas County and District Retirement System.
•   SUPPLEMENTAL DEATH BENEFITS FUND-If an employee dies, his or her beneficiary will receive a lump sum payment equal to one year's compensation, based on the employee's most recent regular rate of pay for the employee's regular position.
•  SURVIVOR ANNUITY DEATH BENEFIT -To be eligible for this death benefit, the employee must be a participant in T.C.D.R.S. and must have completed at least four (4) years of service with Midland County SOCIAL SECURITY - All employees of the county are covered by social security. The county also contributes to the social security system on behalf of each employee.
