Design hardware circuits and power systems for alternating current and direct current motor drives. Apply circuit simulation tools for modeling, designing, and troubleshooting of complex power electronic circuits and systems. Apply computer-aided design software to design printed circuit board assemblies. Build prototypes and conduct certification tests on hardware in a high voltage power electronics laboratory. Apply regulatory standards for the design and testing of industrial motor drive products. Stay up to date on critical components and system technologies such as magnetics, capacitors, power semiconductor devices, and applications to motor drive products. Lead project and product development tasks such as schedule management, cost tracking, and resource planning. Full time employment, Monday Friday, 40 hours per week. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Must have a bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, or a related field, and 8 years of related work experience, of which 5 years must be progressive post-baccalaureate related work experience. Alternatively, the employer will accept a masters degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, or a related field, and 6 years of related work experience. Must have 6 years of experience in each of the following: Utilizing oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, or electromagnetic compatibility analyzers in a high voltage laboratory; and Measuring current, voltage, and temperatures in a high voltage laboratory. Must have 5 years of experience in each of the following: Developing power electronics hardware; Designing power semiconductor circuits including Insulated-Gate Bipolar Transistors, Silicon-Controlled-Rectifiers, Diodes, or Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor Field-Effect Transistors; Designing application circuits including gate drives, voltage feedback, signal conditioning, or switch-mode power supplies; Applying International Electrotechnical Commission standards for electrical safety and electromagnetic compatibility including IEC 61800-5-1 and IEC 61800-3; Creating design specifications for capacitors, magnetics, and power semiconductor devices using Matlab, Simulink, Ansys EM Suite, or PSpice; Designing printed circuit board assemblies for schematic capture and layout design using Mentor Graphics or Altium.
