Description
As Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the following:
Assist in the planning, design, and execution of heavy highway projects from concept through construction.
Perform engineering calculations, prepare technical reports, and ensure design compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Oversee and coordinate construction activities with contractors, DOT officials, and other stakeholders.
Review project specifications, drawings, submittals, and shop drawings.
Monitor project schedules, budgets, and quality control throughout the lifecycle.
Ensure adherence to safety and environmental standards on-site.
Provide mentorship to junior engineers and collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams.
Profile
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
Professional Engineer (PE) license in Connecticut is required.
5+ years of experience in heavy highway engineering and construction.
Strong understanding of CTDOT standards and procedures.
Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MS Office Suite; familiarity with scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera, MS Project) is a plus.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
