Are you a chemical engineer who thrives at the intersection of project execution and process excellence?
We're seeking a Project Engineer with a strong background in process engineering to lead high-impact capital projects and drive process improvements in a dynamic, hands-on manufacturing environment. This role is perfect for someone who can wear both hats-delivering technical process solutions while ensuring projects are delivered on time, on spec, and on budget.
What You'll Do:
- Lead and manage capital and infrastructure projects from conception through startup, with a focus on process-driven improvements.
- Collaborate with Operations, R&D, Maintenance, and EHS to ensure safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.
- Perform technical evaluations, develop P&IDs, material and energy balances, and equipment specifications.
- Troubleshoot and optimize chemical processes involving batch and continuous operations.
- Ensure all project work complies with industry codes, PSM/RMP regulations, and internal standards.
- Lead and participate in PHAs/HAZOPs and drive corrective actions through to completion.
- Support project commissioning and process validation activities.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to cross-functional development.
- Monitor and control project performance-scope, budget, schedule, and quality.
- Identify and prioritize process improvement opportunities aligned with business goals.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering; PE license is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing, including both process and project engineering roles.
- Demonstrated ability to lead capital projects and drive process optimizations.
- Solid knowledge of chemical unit operations (eg, heat exchangers, reactors, distillation, filtration).
- Familiarity with PHA, HAZOP, PSM/RMP, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong technical writing and presentation skills-able to convey complex ideas clearly.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally in a plant environment.
- Proficiency with engineering tools such as Aspen, AutoCAD, or similar is a plus.
- A proactive, self-directed mindset with strong problem-solving and project management skills.

Salary range: $150,000 - $200,000 yearly
