Here at BWGM, we provide a self-delivery design and build approach for non-infrastructure project delivery, turnkey capital projects, new build solutions, capital maintenance projects, process plant integration, and commissioning.

Currently, Binnies is seeking Project Engineers for the Southern Water region. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of the construction of electrical, mechanical, civil, and process elements of projects, from planning through construction to commissioning.

Responsibilities:

  1. Collate engineering specifications to generate supply chain enquiries.
  2. Review and create detailed and accurate Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
  3. Undertake site surveys, including taking measurements, photos, asking operational questions, understanding processes, and assessing access and egress.
  4. Resolve technical and logistical issues as they arise, utilizing the team's technical expertise.
  5. Support project needs and coordinate activities among key stakeholders.
  6. Drive and lead procurement of materials and services.
  7. Evaluate, organize, and prioritize workload within the schedule.
  8. Attend client and operational meetings.
  9. Liaise with clients.
  10. Regularly report project progress and updates to Senior Management.
  11. Manage defects and oversee their closure.
  12. Manage suppliers and sub-contractors, including daily liaison and assessment of quotations.
  13. Ensure adherence to programmes and report discrepancies.
  14. Prepare tenders for review and approval by management.
  15. Inspect completed works at supplier premises.
  16. Support management, supervisors, and team leaders as needed.
  17. Ensure compliance with CDM & HSE regulations.
  18. Deliver projects on time and within budget.
  19. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures and regulations.

Experience / Qualifications:

  1. Relevant engineering degree or equivalent (HND, BTEC, Level 5 award).
  2. Proficient in MS Excel.
  3. Ability to manage workload to meet priorities and deadlines.
  4. Strong report-writing skills.
  5. Understanding of financial cost control (preferred).
  6. Experience with MS Project and/or P6 Primavera planning software.
  7. Knowledge of NEC contracts (preferred).
  8. Understanding of water and wastewater industry processes (preferred).
  9. Valid UK driving license.
