As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for providing the technical expertise to bring a variety of projects from Design through to fully supported Operation. Projects will range across Sky's Broadcast infrastructure, including Content Production, Post-Production, Transmission, and various delivery platforms.
What you'll do
- Implement broadcast technical solutions and integrate with existing systems on the broadcast platform.
- Work according to designs provided by others or produce designs for technical elements of projects or integrations.
- Engage with Support and Operational teams early in projects to ensure systems are ready for live operation.
- Maintain effective communication with stakeholders and project teams, ensuring regular updates and documentation.
- Produce high-quality documentation detailing technical architecture, connectivity, system drawings, and cabling.
What you'll bring
- A strong understanding of broadcast television technical elements, including MPEG/DVB standards, Production, Studio, Video, Audio, Cloud Production, and control systems.
- Good knowledge of Broadcast IP standards like SMPTE 2022, SMPTE 2110, AoIP (AES67), and PTP.
- Proficiency with IT and computer networking for fault finding and issue resolution.
- Attention to detail and quality in design, implementation, and documentation.
- Experience in troubleshooting and devising design changes for broadcast systems.
- Competence with broadcast testing equipment and AutoCAD for schematic drawings.
