We're looking for a Project Engineer to support our civil/sitework construction operations from pre-construction through closeout. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong attention to detail, and is eager to grow within the construction industry. You'll assist Project Managers, Superintendents, and field crews to ensure efficient planning, coordination, and execution of projects involving grading, utilities, paving, landscpainh erosion control, and other key scopes.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and tracking of project schedules, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
  • Review and interpret civil drawings, specifications, permits, and contract documents.
  • Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to support procurement, deliveries, and field operations.
  • Support project buyout by organizing quotes, reviewing scopes, and helping secure contracts.
  • Maintain and update project documentation, including submittal logs, drawing logs, and as-builts.
  • Assist in quality control processes, ensuring all work aligns with plans and specs.
  • Attend jobsite meetings and assist with tracking daily production and progress.
  • Help prepare and distribute work orders to foremen and track completion.
  • Communicate with municipalities, inspectors, and utility agencies as needed for coordination and inspections.
  • Support the Project Manager in budget tracking, pay applications, and billing coordination.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
  • (or equivalent combination of education and industry experience).
  • 1-3 years of experience in civil or heavy construction preferred (internships included).
  • Strong understanding of construction documents, civil drawings, and specifications.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project) and PDF markup tools (Bluebeam or similar).
  • Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Procore, Planswift, or similar) is a plus.
