Job Description:
Our client is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Controls Analyst to join their dynamic team. This role is pivotal in supporting the completion of transmission and substation projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget. The successful candidate will serve as an intermediary among various departments including engineering, real estate, and construction. This full-time position is based in the main office, with a focus on maintaining high standards of financial and project management.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the completion report process, analyze material, labor, and overhead charges against projects to ensure financial accuracy.
- Create and manage comprehensive reports, entering all relevant data into the system for review and approval before asset unitization.
- Assist in the development of project forecasts and budgets, collaborating with stakeholders to review financial statuses, and make adjustments as necessary.
- Conduct monthly tracking and variance analysis by project, including Capex and O&M reporting to project stakeholders.
- Develop accurate project cost estimates in conjunction with the engineering team and perform post-construction cost variance reviews.
- Initiate work requests and ensure timely reporting on project in-service and completion statuses.
- Support the development and updates of project schedules, reporting weekly progress to management.
- Handle ad hoc reporting requests, including those for regulatory bodies or data inquiries, as needed.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in financial management and project controls, preferably within the transmission and substation sectors.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Word; knowledge of Microsoft Project is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, process diverse information, and effectively communicate with management and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to solve problems using sound reasoning.
- Excellent organizational skills with the capability to handle large volumes of data and manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed for project requirements.
- Ability to start immediately and commit to the full duration of projects.
