Project Assistant - Construction


We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Project Assistant to the Construction Manager to join our team. The Project Assistant will play a vital role in supporting the Construction Manager and ensuring the overall success of our construction projects. This individual will be responsible for assisting with project planning, coordination, and execution while ensuring that builds are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.


Key Responsibilities


The Project Assistant will be accountable to the Construction Manager for achieving the following:


  • Assisting the Construction Manager with various tasks.
  • Perform daily construction walks on each lot and manage lot status communication with the team.
  • Become proficient in our construction software and effectively communicate information to all relevant parties in a timely manner (builders, vendors, real estate brokers, and homeowners).
  • Facilitate walkthroughs and manage the final inspection punch-list system and process.
  • Maintain document control and file management related to the construction process on each lot to include permits, schedules, and updates of selections.
  • Coordinate and support the build process from start to finish on each lot in collaboration with the Construction Manager.
  • Track starts, permits, and schedules.
  • Monitor different phases of construction and identify necessary actions between each phase.
  • Assist in community upkeep by overseeing homesite and grounds cleanup.
  • Conduct pre-inspections with builders and homeowners to ensure all construction requests are completed accurately.
  • Provide support to the Project Manager during the pre-sale process.

Design Process Assistance:


  • Prepare design selections and finishes for each spec and pre-sale home.
  • Communicate with vendors regarding design selections for each spec and pre-sale home.
  • Conduct research and obtain pricing estimates for non-standard items.

Other Duties as Assigned:


  • Maintain office supplies and ensure the readiness of the model home.
  • Organize and track physical and digital documentation.
  • Plan events, including builder appreciation and community events.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Scheduling and Task Tracking:


  • Coordinate the weekly builders' meeting and establish procedures for communicating pertinent construction information.
  • Record due dates, set reminders, and notify the team of upcoming events.
  • Monitor builder repair requests after each closing.

Skills and Qualifications:


  • Experience with Canva, Dropbox, Construction Management Software, and Microsoft Office is preferred.
  • High computer proficiency is required; candidates must be confident and skilled in using a computer.
  • Experience in any facet of the homebuilding industry is beneficial.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Quick learner.
  • Willingness to work indoors and outdoors.
  • Flexible, teachable, and personable, with the ability to interact with vendors, subcontractors, potential buyers, and realtors.
  • System-oriented, with strong skills in creating and implementing processes.

Employment Type and Benefits:


  • Compensation: $26-$30/hour
  • Paid holidays, sick leave, and time off
  • Full-time, 40 hours per week
  • Primary location: Church Hill Ranch model home, Ferndale, WA

Physical Requirements:


  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
  • Willingness to work in outdoor and construction site environments, including exposure to various weather conditions
