The Project Accountant-Construction will be responsible for a variety of accounting and finance processes such as AP, AR, WIP Reporting, Contract Administration, and month end close. As the Project Accountant-Construction you will have the opportunity to grow within this role and the organization.

Description
- As the Project Accountant-Construction you will work with the project managers to prepare WIP and Cost reports.
- Assist with AP and AR, ensuring its entered and coded to the right projects.
- Documenting financial transactions by entering account information.
- Assist with contract administration.
- Summarizing current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
- Maintaining accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
- Assist with Payroll processes.
- Reconciling financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
- Preparing payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements.
- Complying with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.

Profile
A successful Project Accountant-Construction should have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Have experience with accounting in a construction business (sub trade, general contractor, or developer).
- Proficiency with databases and computer systems used in accounting; Sage 300 would be preferred.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to derive conclusions from numerical data.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- This is an in office role based in Belmont, CA.
