Job Description Exciting Opportunity as a Progressive Die Setter at Mundelein, IL .
We are seeking an energetic and skilled Progressive Die Setter to join our team. This vital role involves setting up progressive die jobs, ensuring complete and safe setups, and maintaining compliance with safety standards. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner, detail-oriented, and ready to grow with Larsen Manufacturing.
What you'll be doing:
- Set up and operate stamping presses.
- Read and interpret inspection prints for first-piece approval and part prints to adjust equipment as needed.
- Understand and follow control plans and work instructions according to ISO/TS requirements.
- Ensure excellent housekeeping and adherence to shop safety at all times.
- Exceed required production rates and set-up times.
- Collaborate with supervisors to improve set-up processes and repairs.
- Retrieve required tooling and set up jobs as per shop papers and press setup instructions.
- Verify that all setups are complete and compliant with safety measures.
- Submit samples to Quality Control in a timely manner.
- Report setup times to the production scheduler and assist production operators and tool room personnel when needed.
- Halt production upon identifying or suspecting nonconforming conditions.
Work Experience Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (preferred).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Metal Stamping Punch Press Setups.
- Proficient with Wintress and Link 2500 programmable limits for die safety and feeder programming.
- Forklift certification or willingness to become certified through the company.
- Strong oral and written communication skills (bilingual candidates are a plus.).
- Team player with a dependable and punctual work ethic.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Own tools (preferred).
- Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to adapt and make decisions.
Compensation and Schedule:
- Competitive hourly wage based on experience and management approval.
- Variety of shifts available.
- Overtime may be required.
- Reporting directly to the Production Supervisor.
