The Programmer Analyst is responsible for the development of solutions to automate core processing jobs, develop business intelligence reporting and dashboards, and to develop the production of data files. The Programmer Analyst ensures that the needs of GLCU are met by analyzing business requirements, designing and developing automated solutions, installing them into production, and documenting and maintaining them to meet changing business needs. Meets and exceeds service expectations of managers and staff in all GLCU departments, in order that GLCU can provide the highest-level member service.
As a Programmer Analyst, your duties will be: - Design, develop and maintain applications in PowerOn and Java that automate Symitar postings and that integrate with Symitar and other third-party systems. Develop jobs that manage the generation and processing of data files from/to the financial core system.
- Develop business intelligence reporting and dashboards using tools such as ARCU, EDS, Spotfire, PowerBI, Java and PowerOn. Ensure that the data needs and requests of the business are met.
- Consult with business partners to define business requirements for new or changing business needs. Research options and designs and programs efficient solutions. Designs, codes, tests, documents and implements automated solutions that meet business requirements.
- Prepare program and system integration test data, analyzes test results, and specifies data control procedures for modified and enhanced programs.
- Provide assistance, support and training to business users as required.
- Provide support and system administration for IS systems such as ARCU, Synergy, and Episys.
- Conduct research to resolve programming or data quality issues. Works independently or with other staff to solve data-related challenges and explore solutions for improvements. Escalates issues as needed to ensure that issues are addressed early in the process.
- Provide regular status updates for projects and tasks assigned. Acts as a resource to business areas explaining impacts and ramifications of proposed changes.
- Lead or participates on project teams as assigned, defining tasks, effort, dependencies, and timeframes.
- Work with vendors to ensure that we are getting the most out of the products and services that we have purchased.
- Ensure the safekeeping of the data, files, records and material.
- Track industry trends and maintains knowledge of new techniques to best serve GLCU. Expands system and business knowledge.
- Maintain excellent member relations pertaining to the Department's operations.
- Responsible for maintaining compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local rules and regulations, and following all GLCU policies, procedures and internal controls.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements needed to be part of this team: - Minimum of one year of experience in a similar position.
- Basic knowledge and concepts of BI reporting. Broad knowledge of industry standard programming language.
