Northumberland College is Ofsted Outstanding and is currently building a multi-million, state-of-the-art new college campus in Ashington, scheduled to open in 2026. The successful candidate will be based at the new college, which will feature a purpose-built construction, housing, advanced manufacturing, and engineering centre.
The college offers a broad curriculum that spans technical, vocational further and higher education, including extensive apprenticeship programs and dedicated centres for young people with SEND.
The college has two main campuses in Ashington and Ponteland, and as part of the Education Partnership Northeast, it operates several satellite delivery centres across the region.
With excellent road links and a new train station in Ashington, the new Department for Education-backed campus at Wansbeck Business Park will be a national leader in architectural design and operation. About the Candidate
You should be organized, innovative, and a team player with the drive to develop collaborative relationships across all areas of study. Ambition and innovation in pedagogical approaches are essential, along with leadership in curriculum development. The candidate will engage with external stakeholders, communities of practice, and County of Sanctuary representatives.
You must hold a relevant teaching qualification and an accredited TEFL certificate or equivalent.

We are seeking an enthusiastic Lecturer and Programme Leader to join our team, leading and delivering ESOL curriculum. The ideal candidate is passionate about teaching and has a proven track record of providing outstanding learning experiences. The role is crucial in maintaining excellent student outcomes, fostering an inclusive environment, and valuing students' knowledge and skills.
Role Responsibilities
- Planning and preparing high-quality, sequenced lessons aligned with career pathways.

Qualifications
- Minimum Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training or equivalent, with commitment to complete within two years.
- CELTA or equivalent.
- Experience in planning and delivering inclusive, relevant sessions.
- Experience in quality assurance processes.
- Ability to collaborate with students and colleagues to support progress.
- Skills in assessment development and providing constructive feedback.
- Maintaining accurate records of student achievements.
- Using feedback to improve educational quality.
