There is a Program Specialist aka Personal Property Auditor vacancy with the Yakima County Assessor's Office. This position is responsible for the auditing and processing of all personal property assessments for the County by using state guidelines and depreciation schedules. Creates a decision-making process that ensures equitability for all assessments. Speaks with taxpayers and tax service corporations regarding the validity of personal property filings. Maintains personal property manufactured homes, processing title applications, title eliminations, mobile homes in parks databases. Completes of segregations and merges of all manufactured homes (personal and real property mobile homes). Researches historical documents and title information regarding manufactured homes. Crossed trained in some of the basics of the cadastral technician position to supply back up customer service in the event of absences.

Responsibilities: Essential Duties: Processes, audits and inspects personal property and applications to ensure equitable assessment of all personal property in the County by conducting physical inspection audits, desk audits, review audits, phone audits and detailed book audits regarding the annual assessment of personal property.
Processes all mobile home title eliminations, merges and segregations by maintaining manufactured housing records of mobile home parks and mobile homes located on real property with different ownership.
Respond to questions and concerns of property owners and general public; prepare a variety of correspondence to property owners and other agencies for title transfer and other purposes.
Creates, reads and interprets a variety of graphic materials such as recorded plats, segregations, land us maps engineering drawings, blueprints and or transparencies to verify parcel boundaries.
Other duties required.
Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED
AND 4 years of real estate/ title clerk experience, data entry;
OR an equivalent combination of experience or training which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
Required: Valid WA State Driver's License and proof of insurance, if requested.
Successful completion of general employment verification.
